MµShield is a family-run magnetic shielding and precision metal fabrication shop with 60+ years of experience. They are a global leader in processing Mumetal, a soft ferromagnetic material used in aerospace, military, and medical device manufacturing.
Although their Londonderry, NH shop boasts a 19,000 sq. ft. floorplan, the team was searching for a laser cutting solution that not only had a small footprint, but also was easy to operate. They also needed the flexibility to precision cut thin gauged foils from .004” to .125” steel sheets.
LaserCube is a 4×4 flatbed laser cutting machine, perfect for processing a wide variety of low volume parts. Its high accuracy encoders allow for the high precision work the team required, while also making clean cuts to reduce post production buffing.
Within a day or two of IPG’s hands-on-training, the MµShield team had their LaserCube up and running making parts. It only took a few months to realize that LaserCube was helping them save time and money, while allowing them to increase their productivity.
From Mumetal to stainless steel, LaserCube can laser cut a variety of metals. This allowed MµShield to take on more custom jobs and provide better pricing to their customers. And as their company grows, they know that the LaserCube will grow with them. The LaserCube can integrate with newer technology as we release it, reducing the need to replace expensive hardware.
