IPG LaserCube: Small Thin Parts with 0.25 mm Radius

This "dog bone" part is cut from thin sheets of stainless steel and require a series of holes finer than a sewing needle. To capture the fine details and prevent tool damage, the team must slowly produce these parts in the ProtoTRAK. LaserCube uses a non-contact process that the team to power through thin and flexible stainless steel without tool breakage. Utilizing a laser beam with a 0.12 mm diameter, the team can efficiently produce thousands of "dog bones" a day.
