Laser Depth Dynamics was incorporated in 2012 to bring our patented measurement technology, Inline Coherent Imaging (ICI), to the laser process monitoring market. The ICI technology was the product of an intensive development effort at Queen’s University beginning in 2007, that has since become a revolution in how lasers are used in manufacturing.
In December 2017, Laser Depth Dynamics was acquired by the world leader in fibre lasers, IPG Photonics (NASDAQ, IPGP), to become IPG Photonics Canada. IPG Canada is the center of weld process monitoring within IPG and continues the development of the LDD weld monitor to push the boundaries of laser processes.
IPG Canada is based in beautiful Kingston, Ontario, at the eastern edge of the Great Lakes. Distributed and serviced across the Americas, Europe, and Asia, our LDD weld monitoring products are proudly designed and built in-house. Our growing team continues to deliver world-class solutions to our customers in an ever-changing industry.
